cismet GmbH is an open source software company specialised in providing user-tailored, highly integrated and interactive solutions for distributed geo-spatial applications. Cismet personnel can be considered experts in the field of Environmental Decision Support Systems and Geospatial Application Design and Development. With a strong research profile, the company aims at transforming the latest ICT research results into solutions which are usable by real world end users. Company personnel have been involved in European research projects since 1997 - in the ICT, security and environment programs of the EU. The company has an extensive network of more than 100 R&D and application partners. This research provides customers access to cutting-edge technology. Research has a focus on information infrastructures (including integration of computational models) and highly interactive graphical user interfaces, including 3D visualisation and rich internet applications.

Pascal Dihé

Pascal Dihé works as a senior researcher and developer and is responsible for many research activities in the company. He holds a degree in applied computer science from the University of Applied Sciences Saarbrücken. He is working in EU research projects since FP5 with focus on design and implementation of distributed architectures and distributed geospatial systems integration, currently as one of the main architects of the CLARITY project.

 

Thorsten Hell

Thorsten Hell is the cismet CEO and head of software development. He holds a degree in Applied Computer Science and a Master of Computer Science from the International Max Planck Research School at the Saarland State University. He is working in in EU research projects since FP5.

 

Sascha Schlobinski

Sascha Schlobinski supports the team in the field of research and development. He holds a degree in Applied Computer Science and a Master of Computer Science from the International Max Planck Research School at the Saarland State University. He is working in the area of enviromatics since 1998 with focus on design and implementation of distributed architectures and more recently on concepts for geospatial environmental decision support systems. He has been working in EU funded projects since FP5.

 

Jean-Michel Ruiz

Jean-Michel Ruiz works as software developer in the field of rich internet clients and service oriented architectures. He holds a degree in applied computer science from the University of Applied Sciences Saarbrücken. He is working in EU research projects since FP6.

 

Thorsten Herter
